The following research seeks to describe the legal context that is limited to the public library in Latin America and the Caribbean, and identify through the literature review which of the elements in their laws could serve as a reference in the creation of a legal framework for Chilean public library.
On the other hand, seeks to know through interviews, the perception of librarians, staff and other stakeholders involved in the management of public libraries in relation to the need to these libraries.
